We are seeking a highly capable AI Prompt Engineer to design, refine, and optimize prompts that maximize the performance of modern large language models (LLMs) and generative AI systems. This role focuses on creating structured prompt frameworks, improving AI response quality, and developing scalable prompt libraries that support a wide range of business applications.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional analytical thinking, strong written communication skills, and a deep understanding of how language influences AI behavior. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into effective AI interactions, ensuring outputs are accurate, relevant, consistent, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key responsibilities include designing prompt templates for different use cases, creating multi-step prompting strategies, developing system instructions, evaluating AI-generated outputs, identifying response weaknesses, and continuously refining prompt performance through testing and iteration. You will establish prompt engineering best practices, documentation standards, and quality assurance processes that enable reliable AI deployment across multiple products and workflows.
The role also involves experimenting with advanced prompting techniques such as chain-of-thought prompting, few-shot learning, role prompting, structured output formatting, retrieval-augmented prompting, context optimization, prompt compression, and instruction hierarchy. You will analyze AI behavior across different models, compare response quality, measure prompt effectiveness using defined evaluation metrics, and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction.
You will contribute to the development of reusable prompt libraries, prompt version control, testing methodologies, evaluation datasets, and automated validation processes. Working closely with product, engineering, research, operations, and business stakeholders, you will ensure AI solutions remain scalable, maintainable, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
Success in this position requires creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset. You should be comfortable exploring emerging AI capabilities, interpreting complex requirements, simplifying workflows, and translating human intent into precise machine-readable instructions. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Linguistics, English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs), generative AI technologies, and prompt engineering principles.
- Excellent written English with the ability to create clear, structured, and unambiguous instructions.
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into optimized AI prompts and conversational workflows.
- Familiarity with prompt design techniques including zero-shot, one-shot, few-shot, role prompting, instruction prompting, structured prompting, and multi-step prompting.
- Knowledge of AI response evaluation methodologies, quality assessment, benchmarking, and iterative optimization.
- Understanding of natural language processing concepts and AI model behavior.
- Ability to create reusable prompt templates, prompt libraries, and documentation standards.
- Experience working with structured data formats such as JSON, Markdown, YAML, or XML is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI platforms, APIs, automation tools, or workflow orchestration is preferred.
- Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, knowledge retrieval, and context management is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, JavaScript, or other scripting languages is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze AI-generated responses, identify inaccuracies, reduce hallucinations, and improve output consistency.
