Job Description: Application Performance Monitoring Engineer
Experience Required: 4+ years
Headcount: 3 engineers
Role Overview
Responsible for end-to-end application performance monitoring across web applications, microservices, and API layers using enterprise APM platforms. Ensures proactive detection, root cause analysis, and performance optimization across production environments.
Mandatory Tools (at least one cert required)
- Dynatrace (preferred — DCA / DCP certification)
- AppDynamics (Cisco AppDynamics Certified Performance Analyst)
- New Relic (New Relic Certified Performance Pro)
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage APM agents across web, microservices, and API environments
- Build dashboards and alerting for SLA/SLO tracking and anomaly detection
- Perform root cause analysis on application degradation and latency issues
- Integrate APM tools with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira) for incident correlation
- Monitor containerized workloads (Kubernetes/Docker) and cloud-native services
- Define and track baseline performance metrics, throughput, error rates, and Apdex scores
- Support capacity planning based on APM trend data
Required Skills
- 4+ years hands-on with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic in production environments
- Web application monitoring (Java, .NET, Node.js stack awareness)
- Microservices & API monitoring (REST/GraphQL, service mesh awareness)
- Log analytics integration (Splunk, ELK, or equivalent)
- Basic scripting for automation (Python or Shell)
- ITIL foundation minimum
Good to Have
- Cloud monitoring experience (OCI, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
- OpenTelemetry / distributed tracing exposure
- Kubernetes observability (Prometheus + Grafana stack)
Evaluation-Specific Note for Sourcing
Each profile submitted must include:
- Valid APM platform certificate (Dynatrace / AppDynamics / New Relic)
- At least one documented project example covering web, microservices, or API monitoring
- Minimum 4 years verifiable APM-specific experience — not generic infrastructure monitoring
