Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst / ArcGIS Specialist to support spatial data analysis, mapping, and geospatial application development using Esri ArcGIS technology
. The role supports planning, infrastructure, environmental, utility, or public-sector projects within the Sacramento region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain geospatial datasets using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Create high-quality maps, dashboards, and spatial analyses for decision making
- Manage GIS databases (file geodatabases, enterprise geodatabases)
- Perform spatial analysis, data modeling, and geoprocessing
- Publish and maintain web maps and web apps using ArcGIS Online / Portal
- Support data collection using Survey
123, Field Maps, and Collector - Integrate GIS data with other enterprise systems
- Ensure GIS data quality, accuracy, and metadata compliance
- Prepare technical documentation and user guides
- Collaborate with planners, engineers, environmental staff, and IT teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Urban Planning, Environmental Science
, or related field - 2+ years of hands on experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Strong understanding of spatial data concepts (coordinate systems, projections)
- Experience with geodatabases and spatial analysis
- Proficiency in map design and cartographic standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python (Arc Py) for GIS automation
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience in public sector, utilities, transportation, or environmental GIS
- Knowledge of SQL
, REST services, or web GIS development - Esri Technical Certification (preferred)
