Role Description The Assistant Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at our facility in greater Calgary. The successful candidate will provide daily coordination and execution across both engineering and manufacturing functions. Tasks will include: scheduling work scopes, organizing materials and equipment, and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Assistant Operations Manager will communicate with internal resources as well as vendors, and customers to resolve issues, maintain quality, and drive growth. Additional responsibilities include communicating company goals to staff, and monitoring performance metrics for management.

Qualifications

  • Strong operational coordination skills, including scheduling, workflow planning, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency with common office and operations software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Excel, MS Project, Teams, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with field teams, leadership, vendors, and customers, both non-technical, and highly specialized.
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with data tracking and basic reporting to support decision-making and performance measurement.
  • Understanding of safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment; familiarity with regulatory or compliance requirements is an asset.
  • Previous experience in operations, engineering, energy, or a related field is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in business, operations management, engineering technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in Calgary, Alberta and occasionally support early, late, or weekend operations as needed.
