Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Mechanical Engineer role based in Rayong, Thailand. The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will support senior engineers in mechanical design and machine development, including preparing 3D models and 2D drawings, and assisting with design reviews and documentation. Daily responsibilities include performing basic engineering calculations, contributing to R&D activities, and helping to prototype, test, and validate mechanical components and assemblies. The role will also involve coordinating with manufacturing and assembly teams to address design-for-manufacturing issues, supporting troubleshooting of mechanical problems on the shop floor, and maintaining accurate technical records. The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams on project tasks, follow established engineering standards and safety procedures, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world machine and production system challenges.
- Practical skills in Machine Design, including component selection, mechanism design, and consideration of manufacturability and maintainability.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, and the ability to create clear, production-ready drawings.
- Basic Project Management skills, such as task planning, time management, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications; familiarity with relevant standards is an advantage.
- Effective communication skills in a multicultural, international environment; ability to work collaboratively on-site in Rayong.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, or assembly processes, or a strong willingness to learn on the shop floor.
- Interest in automation, industrial machinery, and continuous improvement; prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is a plus.
