💰 $120,000-130,000 + Super

Be the technical expert behind our robotic welding operations.

ABBA Engineering is looking for an experienced Robotic Welding & Automation Technician to take ownership of our robotic welding systems and automated manufacturing equipment at our modern Pinjarra workshop.

You'll play a key role in programming, optimising and maintaining advanced robotic welding systems that manufacture critical components for Australia's mining and industrial sectors. Working alongside Production, Maintenance and Quality teams, you'll improve weld quality, maximise equipment uptime and help drive the future of automation within our business.

What you'll be doing

  • Program, set up and optimise robotic welding cells for production.
  • Operate and maintain robotic welding equipment, positioners and automated systems.
  • Improve weld quality, repeatability and production cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding, automation and CNC equipment issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibration and first-line fault finding.
  • Ensure compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and quality standards.
  • Support CNC laser and other automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to maximise equipment uptime.
  • Train and mentor operators on robotic welding systems and safe operating practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across automation and manufacturing processes.

About You

You'll have a strong background in fabrication or manufacturing and enjoy solving technical problems in a hands-on production environment.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Experience programming robotic welding systems such as ABB, Fanuc, Fronius, KUKA or similar.
  • Trade qualification in Fabrication, Welding or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with CNC laser or other automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, parameters and metallurgy.
  • The ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Forklift and/or Elevated Work Platform Licence.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
