Job Summary
To work under the guidance of other avionics technicians to identify malfunctions, remove, repair, and install a limited variety of aircraft communication, navigation, and electrical components.
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to understand avionics, including terminology, basic setup, operation, and practical application of electrical and avionics aircraft systems.
- With guidance and supervision, perform analysis of routine electrical malfunctions according to standard shop practices using equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and continuity lights.
- With assistance, perform minor repair such as replacing wires and connectors on standard electrical components.
- With assistance and supervision, remove and install electrical and electronic components as directed.
- Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
- Responsible only for own work.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education
Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level Work Keys certification.
Experience
No experience required. Electrical assembly experience preferred.
