Role Description The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installing, testing, calibrating, and maintaining medical equipment and devices used across various hospital departments. Day-to-day activities include conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating with manufacturers and service teams, and documenting service reports and equipment histories. The role involves supporting clinicians and hospital staff in the safe and effective use of medical devices, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and assisting in equipment evaluations, upgrades, and training. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu, requiring close collaboration with internal teams, healthcare facilities, and suppliers.
Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of biomedical engineering principles, medical equipment operation, and healthcare technology management.
  • Skills in equipment installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and technical troubleshooting of biomedical devices.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and regulatory guidelines related to medical equipment.
  • Competence in basic electronics, instrumentation, and safety standards relevant to hospital and clinical environments.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and customer service skills for working with clinicians, technicians, and vendors.
  • Good organizational and documentation abilities, including maintaining service records and preparing technical reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Prior experience with hospital equipment or medical device service is an advantage; familiarity with ophthalmology, radiology, or critical care equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within Nepal as needed and to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
