The Business Data Analyst is responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure to ensure secure, accurate, and high‑quality data for business intelligence. The role involves optimizing data flows, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and managing end‑to‑end data projects aligned with business needs. The analyst continuously monitors data quality, enforces governance practices, and ensures compliance with industry regulations while supporting strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and builds scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
  • Improves the performance and efficiency of data retrieval and processing systems
  • Oversees the maintenance and enhancement of data storage and processing systems
  • Implements best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data
  • Audits data regularly and takes corrective action for discrepancies
  • Ensures secure handling of data in compliance with regulations and policies
  • Establishes and enforces data governance processes
  • Manages and protects sensitive data in line with privacy policies
  • Collaborates with analysts, scientists, stakeholders, and IT teams to meet business objectives
  • Leads end‑to‑end data engineering projects from design to execution
  • Maintains documentation of data architectures, workflows, and pipelines
  • Communicates project status, milestones, and challenges to leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Knowledge in data governance tools (e.g., Alation, Talend)
  • Knowledge in visualization tools (e.g., SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik)
  • Knowledge in databases and data warehouses (e.g., IBM DB2, MySQL, MongoDB, AWS Redshift)
  • Knowledge in data pipelines (e.g., Apache Beam, Airflow, Data Flow)
  • Knowledge in ETL tools (e.g., IBM Infosphere, Talend, AWS)
  • Knowledge in big data processing tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark, Python, Anaconda)
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • 2–3 years of experience in data engineering, preferably in financial services
  • Experience in operationalizing data policies, controls, and procedures
