Business Operations Manager | Fully Remote US
A global organisation is looking for a Business Operations Manager to support a large-scale, multi-workstream technical infrastructure programme.
This is a chief of staff style role sitting at the intersection of programme governance, operational rhythm, and cross-functional leadership. You are the person who keeps a complex, fast-moving programme organised, accountable, and visible to senior leadership. You build the operating cadence, own the reporting frameworks, track KPIs across multiple workstreams, and make sure the right people have the right information at the right time.
The programme environment is data centre and IT networking infrastructure at hyperscale. You do not need to be a network engineer but you need to be comfortable in that world, fluent enough to understand what is being discussed, and credible enough to hold your own in a room full of technical programme managers and infrastructure engineers.
What you will own
- Building and maintaining the operating rhythm for a senior leader across a multi-workstream infrastructure programme.
- Weekly and monthly business review preparation, executive status reporting, OKR tracking, and leadership readouts.
- Cross-functional team coordination across multiple technical programme managers, engineering teams, and vendor organisations.
- KPI framework design and dashboard maintenance giving leadership real-time visibility into programme health, risks, and delivery performance.
- Project intake governance, resource alignment, and priority sequencing across competing workstreams.
- Onboarding, knowledge transfer, and team enablement across a distributed remote organisation.
- Risk and issue escalation management, ensuring blockers reach the right level of leadership without delay.
Business Operations Manager – What You Need
- Proven programme management, chief of staff, PMO lead, or business operations experience in a technology or infrastructure environment
- Demonstrated ability to support and influence senior leaders across complex matrixed organisations without direct authority
- Hands-on experience owning OKRs, KPI dashboards, and executive reporting cadences
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across technical and operational domains simultaneously
- Data centre, IT networking, cloud infrastructure, or hyperscaler adjacent operating environment experience is a strong preference.
What will set you apart
- Prior experience embedded inside a hyperscaler or large-scale managed services organisation.
- Background supporting a VP or Director level leader in a chief of staff or senior PMO capacity.
- Familiarity with infrastructure programme management tooling including Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, Power BI, or equivalent. Experience building programme governance frameworks from scratch in ambiguous or high-growth environments.
- Track record of driving accountability across teams you do not directly manage.
