Role Description

We are seeking an Entry-Level Chemical Process Design Engineer (Contract) to support our process engineering team on a variety of design and study projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers who want hands-on experience in process design, while gaining exposure to client-driven projects in refining, petrochemicals, and LNG.

This is a contract position with the potential for extension or conversion to full-time, depending on performance and business needs. The role is based in Corpus Christi, TX,

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of process deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, Heat & Material Balances (H&MBs), and design calculations.
  • Perform basic process simulations and equipment sizing under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Assist in relief valve sizing, hydraulic analysis, and flare header evaluations.
  • Contribute to safety reviews (HAZOP, PHA) and design verification activities.
  • Prepare technical notes, spreadsheets, and draft reports for client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, piping, instrumentation, and civil/structural engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects acceptable).
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Pro II, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.

Contract Details

Contract Duration: 3–6 months (with possibility of extension).

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on qualifications and experience.
