Position: Chemical Scientist for Nuclear Waste Solutions

CNL seeks a Chemical Scientist to drive innovative nuclear waste processing solutions at our Chalk River Laboratory. Lead impactful research from lab experiments to commercial deployment while ensuring safety and compliance.
In this critical role at CNL, you’ll utilize your chemistry and engineering skills to advance nuclear waste recycling and disposal technologies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff, ensuring the highest quality of work and adherence to regulatory standards. Your expertise will shape projects that contribute to Canada’s environmental sustainability and energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead development of technologies for nuclear waste processing
• Mentor junior scientists and supervise experimental work
• Execute research proposals, plans, and budgets
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and publications
• Investigate chemical processes governing nuclear waste behavior
Requirements:
• Bachelor in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with Honours
• Relevant experience in nuclear field preferred
• Proficiency in Matlab and MS Office required
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Security clearance eligibility required
