PowerOpsHQ is a portfolio company of A Foundery, Princeton NJ's profit-first venture studio dedicated to building disciplined, cash-positive businesses from zero. We are building the next generation of AI-enabled remote operations infrastructure for power generation assets. Our mission is simple: reduce the cost of monitoring energy assets while dramatically increasing their productivity and uptime. By replacing expensive, fragmented in-house operations with intelligent AI-powered Remote Operations Centers, PowerOpsHQ gives Independent Power Producers (IPPs) enterprise-grade monitoring at a fraction of the cost.
The Problem We Are Solving
The global renewable energy transition is deploying thousands of solar, wind, and utility-scale assets, but the physical operations behind them are broken. Independent Power Producers (IPPs) struggle with alarm fatigue, missed tickets, and slow dispatch times because they cannot afford to fully staff 24/7 in-house operations centers. The energy transition is accelerating. The assets are being deployed. The operations layer has not caught up. PowerOpsHQ is here to close that gap.
The Opportunity
PowerOpsHQ is building the industry's premier managed Remote Operations Center (ROC) for energy asset owners. We convert raw SCADA and monitoring alarms into clear, dispatch-ready escalation packets, powered by AI anomaly detection and strict procedural discipline. We guarantee rapid acknowledgment, triage, and handoff SLAs, giving asset owners maximum uptime with minimum risk.

What You Will Build
- Integrate with client SCADA systems and map raw alarms into a rigorous operational taxonomy
- Own the Revenue Engine Drive sales and own the revenue generation engine. Build a repeatable pipeline targeting IPPs to aggressively grow per-MW retainers.
- Author 50+ escalation SOPs covering every anomaly and failure scenario
- Pitch and close the first pilot contracts with VPs of Operations and Asset Managers at IPPs
- Enforce core SLA benchmarks: acknowledgment under 5 min | triage under 15 min | dispatch handoff under 30 min
- Hire, train, and build the QA pipeline for a flawless 24/7 shift-based remote operations team
Who We Are Looking For
- Significant experience in energy asset management, utility operations, or industrial command centers (NOC/ROC)
- Deep familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial IoT, and renewable energy performance metrics
- Proven ability to run high-stakes, shift-based operational teams
- Ability to speak fluently with Field Service Leads, Asset Directors, and technical engineers
- Systems thinker who translates physical engineering problems into digital operational workflows
The Ideal Candidate
You are a former O&M Director, NOC Manager, or energy sector operator who knows exactly how inefficient current monitoring solutions are and is ready to fix it by building your own company. You are deeply technical but fiercely operational. You thrive in high-stakes environments where uptime is money and you have the leadership gravitas to convince enterprise asset owners to trust your team.
Compensation and Equity
We believe the best founders are paid to build, not asked to sacrifice.
From Day 1, A Foundery covers your living stipend so your minimum needs are taken care of and you can focus entirely on building PowerOpsHQ. During the first 90 days, you integrate systems, build the SOPs, and land the first pilots.
Once you stabilize SLA metrics and convert pilots to monthly per-MW retainers, your stipend transitions to a full salary, funded by A Foundery as long as you are hitting your metrics, and eventually by the revenue of the business you built.
And through it all, you are earning substantial co-founder equity.
