Our client is building the first global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with mobile devices and designed for both commercial and government applications.
Responsibilities:
- Operate 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture complex aerospace components with tight tolerances
- Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding
- Load, verify, and adjust CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and performance
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Ensure all components meet aerospace tolerances and quality standards
- Identify and document non-conforming parts in accordance with quality procedures
- Diagnose and resolve machining issues such as tool wear, chatter, and offset discrepancies
- Optimize feeds, speeds, and tool paths to improve efficiency and part quality
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance (coolant checks, lubrication, cleaning)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to all OSHA, company safety policies, and aerospace compliance standards
- Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues
- Accurately complete job travelers, ERP entries, and production documentation
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
- 2–5+ years of experience operating 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Ability to independently perform machine setups
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments preferred
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) and G-code programming is desirable
- Experience machining aluminum, composites, or aerospace alloys is a plus
- Knowledge of process optimization and continuous improvement practices is desirable
Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour
