Job Purpose:
designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization’s communication and networking systems to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across healthcare facilities. The role supports critical healthcare operations by ensuring uninterrupted voice, data, and video communications, aligned with clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement
- Ensure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures
- Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner
- Support the organization’s IT and digital transformation strategy.
- Ensure high availability, security, and performance of communication and network systems.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi ICT regulations, cybersecurity policies, and healthcare accreditation standards.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency communication readiness.
- Promote standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement of communication systems.
Collaborate with internal departments to support clinical and operational communication needs.
.Network & Communication Infrastructure
- Design, implement, and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructure.
- Support and maintain IP telephony (VoIP), unified communications, video conferencing, and paging systems.
- Ensure high availability and redundancy of network and communication services.
. System Operations & Support
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve communication issues.
- Perform configuration, upgrades, patching, and optimization of communication systems.
- Support healthcare applications that rely on network connectivity (HIS, EMR, PACS, VoIP, telemedicine).
- C. Security & Compliance
- Implement network security controls such as firewalls, VPNs, NAC, and encryption.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi PDPL, NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC), and organizational IT security policies.
- Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, and incident response activities.
. Project & Vendor Management
- Participate in IT infrastructure and communication-related projects, including hospital expansions and new site deployments.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and telecom operators to ensure SLA compliance.
- Review technical designs, proposals, and deliverables from vendors.
. Documentation & Standards
- Maintain network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to IT standards, best practices, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- F. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Evaluate new communication technologies and recommend enhancements.
- Support cloud, SD-WAN, and modern communication solutions aligned with business needs.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the IT team.
. Knowledge and Experience
- Strong expertise in LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless, VoIP, and unified communications.
- Experience working with healthcare systems and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi ICT regulations, cybersecurity standards, and healthcare accreditation requirements.
- Experience with enterprise networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Aruba).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Skills:
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in supporting healthcare IT systems (EMR, HIS, ERP)
- Good understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical applications
- Effective communication skills in Arabic and English (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and prioritize based on impact
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities
Team collaboration with the ability to mentor junior staff
Education and Certifications:
- 2-3 years of professional experience in IT application support in a healthcare setting.
- Practical knowledge of hospital information systems (EMR, HIS), clinical workflows, and healthcare operations.
