Position: Construction Materials Internship (Level 1)
As an intern working with our construction materials group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands‑on, paid work experience. Your work will be realistic, rewarding, and allow you to be in a position of responsibility. You will contribute ideas and develop knowledge and communication skills while interacting with top professionals in your field. The internship is more than a job;

Responsibilities
- Observe and document field activities related to the construction process
- Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement
- Perform calculations and data reduction of test results, and draft related documents
- Use field screening equipment and document readings
- Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans
- Interact and communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
- Act as the sole representative of ECS on project sites
Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Interest in how building materials are utilized in the construction process
- Ability to carry 40–70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lift 85 lbs to waist height
- Must have suitable transportation for use on job sites; mileage will be reimbursed
