Lean Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lean Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and construction operations. This role partners closely with operational leaders, project teams, and field personnel to develop and implement process improvement strategies that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and overall project performance. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who excels at influencing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, and delivering measurable operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement Leadership

  • Partner with project and operational leaders to identify opportunities for process optimization and operational excellence.
  • Build strong working relationships with field personnel, supervisors, and leadership teams to encourage engagement in improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to team members on Lean methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence through hands-on support, training, and leadership.
  • Facilitate workshops, improvement events, and process reviews to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Guide teams through structured problem-solving efforts and ensure successful execution of improvement plans.
  • Track, measure, and communicate performance metrics to demonstrate the impact of continuous improvement efforts.
  • Recognize and celebrate team contributions that drive operational success and innovation.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop standardized work processes and implementation plans for new projects, production lines, or scopes of work.
  • Support project and operational leaders in establishing efficient workflows and scalable best practices.
  • Lead workplace organization and visual management initiatives to improve productivity, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement principles are integrated into daily operations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve workflow reliability, and increase operational consistency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial operations, or a related environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading or supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success implementing process improvements that result in measurable operational gains.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles, operational excellence strategies, and change management practices.
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and influence teams at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
  • Self-motivated professional with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to build trust and establish credibility with both field and office-based teams.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50% for first 4 – 6 months. Long term 20% – 25% travel.
