Controls Project Engineer (PLC) – Service Projects
As a Senior Controls Project Engineer (PLC), you are responsible for designing, programming and commissioning PLC‑controlled material handling systems for our service and modification projects. You will work from our office in Veghel and play a key role in optimizing and expanding existing live systems.
Responsibilities
- Integrate new equipment into existing operational environments, managing phasing, logistics and system continuity.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Engineers and a multidisciplinary project team to define system design and functional specifications.
- Take ownership of detailed engineering, PLC programming and system specifications required for manufacturing and implementation.
- Travel to customer sites worldwide to commission systems.
- Perform functional testing of PLC hardware and software.
- Integrate your solution into the overall control system.
- Support system validation and customer acceptance testing.
Qualifications
- HBO degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science or Controls Technology.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar senior role.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems, including Siemens S7, STEP7 and TIA Portal.
- Experience with industrial networks such as Profinet, AS‑i and Profibus.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving skills.
- Proactive, hands‑on and solution‑oriented attitude.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 35% of your time).
- Good command of English;
Dutch is a plus.
