CQA Engineer – WSP Jobs in Ankara, Turkey (Türkiye) at WSP Italy
The CQA Engineer will provide on-site construction monitoring to ensure contractor activities are carried out in accordance with approved design drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Earthworks: Monitoring excavation works, engineered fill placement, and production of various fill materials
- Liner and Piping Works: Oversight of geosynthetics installation and quality control testing (geomembranes, GCLs, geotextiles, geonets, etc.) and monitoring installation of HDPE and corrugated piping systems
- Concrete Works: Monitoring concrete placement and associated quality control activities
- Conducting QA/QC soil and concrete field and laboratory testing, including in-situ moisture and density testing using a nuclear gauge
- Assisting with the review, compilation, and maintenance of project record documentation
- Preparing accurate, clear, and timely daily and weekly construction summary reports
- Interacting constructively and professionally with contractors and project owners to resolve construction-related issues
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong safety-first culture and awareness
- Commitment to ethical conduct, professional integrity, and compliance with WSP’s standards and values
- Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering
- 1-5 years of relevant experience, preferably including SYDF experience, in tasks similar to those listed above
- Experience on mining projects, including tailings storage facilities (TSFs),
heap leach facilities (HLFs), or other mine-related infrastructure, is an asset - Familiarity with international standards and guidelines (e.g.,
ASTM
, ISO
, GISTM
) related to earthworks, geosynthetics, and CQA is an asset - Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong technical interpretation, writing, and reporting skills
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in construction monitoring, testing, and documentation
- Ability to adapt to changing site conditions
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience with a valid Class B driving license
- SRC Certificate is an asset
- Availability to work night shifts, when required
