Description
Customer is seeking experienced, hands on Data Center Technicians to support active data center and lab environments. This role requires candidates who can ramp quickly, perform physical data center work, and be productive almost immediately in a fast paced, high expectation environment.
Core Technical Skills (Required)
Candidates must have hands on data center experience, not entry level:
- Proven experience as a Data Center Technician in live/production environments
- Basic networking knowledge (foundational understanding; not a network engineer role)
- Structured cabling experience, including:
- Running cables
- Cable management and organization in racks
- Experience performing physical data center tasks, such as:
- Rack & stack
- Equipment setup and handling
- Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated or tight data center spaces
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to ~49 lbs
Environment & Work Conditions
- Fully on site, hands on role
- Work performed in:
- Colocation (colo) data centers
- Lab environments
- Candidates must be comfortable working around active infrastructure and hardware

- Fast ramp up ability — productive within weeks, not months
- Comfortable in a high urgency, performance driven environment
- Strong team player who integrates quickly into an existing operations team
- Willingness to be evaluated early and cycled out quickly if not a fit
- Ability to coordinate with landlords or facility contacts when required
- Reliable, hands on, and operationally focused (no long learning curve)
Availability Requirements
- Immediate or near immediate availability strongly preferred
- Candidates with long notice periods or delayed start dates are not a fit
- Prior experience in production data center environments
- Familiarity with data center safety practices
- Strong communication skills for on-site coordination
- Comfort with repetitive physical tasks and structured operational work
- This is not a remote, hybrid, or desk-based role
- This is not an entry-level DC tech position
- Client prioritizes speed, capability, and hands-on experience over long ramp-ups
- Candidates must be comfortable starting quickly and proving value fast
