Design Engineer Jobs in Rochester-Austin, Minnesota Area at Cindavi

Title: Design Engineer

Company: Cindavi

Location: Rochester-Austin, Minnesota Area

Tired of being just another cog in the machine? We are looking for a Design Engineer who wants to own the entire project from concept to rollout.

About the Position:

Are you ready to step out from behind the desk and see your designs built right in front of you? We are looking for a highly capable Design Engineer to join our growing team in Cresco, IA. This isn't a role where you'll be handed a tiny piece of a massive puzzle. Here, you will act as a true project owner, taking full cradle-to-grave responsibility for designing and developing complex, specialty trailer products like NASCAR transporters, mobile hospitals, and disaster relief units. If you combine strong engineering fundamentals with a project-management mindset and the energy to lead, we want you to be the right hand to our Director of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop specialty trailer components and full systems, including frames, suspensions, braking, and load-handling features.
  • Own the entire design lifecycle from the initial concept phase straight through the manufacturing process, ensuring the final product rolls out the door flawlessly.
  • Perform structural analysis and FEA to guarantee durability, load capacity, and strict safety compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with our Sales, Operations, and Industrial Engineering teams to optimize your designs for fabrication and assembly.
  • Manage your own projects, timelines, and deliverables with a high degree of autonomy and intention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 2-5+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software, ideally AutoCAD Inventor, though solid experience in other 3D CAD tools is perfectly acceptable.
  • A demonstrated ability to take full ownership of projects and manage deadlines with a true Project Engineer mindset.
  • A high-energy, ownership-driven personality that allows you to dive in, run with projects, and succeed with minimal hand-holding.
  • A willingness to work fully onsite in Cresco, IA, and be hands-on throughout the manufacturing process.

We are building a collaborative, innovative environment where your work has a massive, visible impact. If you are ready to take ownership of incredible projects and grow your career with a dedicated team, apply now!
