About the role
MiTek is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Queensland team. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to build practical experience in structural design while working closely with customers across the construction industry.
You’ll provide technical and design support, undertake site inspections, and help grow the use of MiTek products. We’re open to candidates with around 1+ years’ experience — or those who bring the right attitude and capability to learn and grow.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver structural designs and technical support for MiTek products
- Prepare designs for fabricators, architects, and engineers
- Conduct site inspections (roof trusses, wall frames, floor systems) and prepare reports
- Provide software and technical support to customers
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support training delivery to customer teams
About you
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia)
- Interest in structural or timber engineering (residential/light commercial)
- Knowledge of Australian standards (AS/NZS 1170, AS1720, AS1684, AS4440, AS4055) desirable
- AutoCAD or similar drafting experience
- Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Interest in working towards Engineers Australia accreditation (NER/CPEng)
