Are you a hands-on engineering leader with deep expertise in metal and plastic manufacturing? Amfas is growing, and we're looking for a Director of Engineering to lead technical excellence across our product development, quoting, and quality processes.

The Role As Director of Engineering, you will be a critical cross-functional leader — partnering with Sales, Operations, Quality, and our manufacturing network to drive technical decisions from initial quoting through first article approval and production.
What You'll Do
- Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and provide technical guidance during the quoting and NPD process.
- Own First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP approval workflows, ensuring on-time sample approvals
- Collaborate and guide Regional Engineers on supplier technical evaluations
- Support new supplier qualification (SQ-03 audits) and ongoing supplier development
- Partner with the Director of Quality on CAPA investigations and corrective action resolution
- Review RFQs for technical feasibility and provide input on part classification, materials, and manufacturing method
- Ensure engineering documentation (drawings, models, FAIR/PPAP packages) is accurate and stored correctly
- Work cross-functionally with Customer Service, Product Management, and Operations to resolve order and quality issues from the technical standpoint.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of engineering experience in metal and/or plastic manufacturing (stamping, casting, injection molding, machined components, or similar) and/or assemblies.
- Proven experience leading DFM, FAI, and PPAP processes (PPAP Level III preferred)
- Familiarity with international supply chains and working with Asia-based manufacturing
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite a plus)
- Strong cross-functional communication skills — you'll be the technical bridge between Sales, Operations, and Suppliers
- Basic knowledge of HTS classification, RoHS/REACH compliance, and quality management systems is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience). MEM or MBA a plus.
