Our esteemed client, an ultra-luxury 5* resort set amidst the pristine beauty of the Maldives, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Director of Engineering to provide strategic leadership and oversee all engineering operations, ensuring the highest standards of asset integrity, operational excellence, sustainability, and guest experience.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in engineering operations within 5* luxury resort environments.
- Strong understanding of property management, asset protection, and engineering best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing capital projects, renovations, and new developments.
- Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and engineering systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience in budgeting, procurement, and project management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to the operational demands of a luxury resort environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Operations
- Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the Engineering Department, ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and protection of all resort assets.
- Ensure alignment with the company's vision, values, and operational standards.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance engineering policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Monitor departmental performance and conduct regular audits to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
Maintenance and Compliance
- Establish and oversee comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of all facilities and equipment.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and statutory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service standards.
Capital Projects and Development
- Identify and evaluate capital investment opportunities and prepare annual capital expenditure plans.
- Provide technical expertise and support for renovation, expansion, and development projects.
- Oversee the procurement of engineering equipment and services in line with operational requirements and budget objectives.
- Monitor project progress, ensure timely execution, and manage the successful handover of completed projects.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, inspire, and develop the engineering team through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning initiatives to build a strong and capable engineering function.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Sustainability
- Champion sustainability initiatives and promote environmentally responsible practices across the property.
- Develop and implement sustainability action plans and waste reduction programs.
- Ensure sustainability awareness and training are effectively embedded within the department.
