Pay Rate: Up to $37.00/hour or about $74,000 a year

  • This role is open to new grads with internship experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer I to support post-market product quality and complaint investigations for medical devices. This role will investigate returned products, review electronic circuits and components, analyze product performance data, and identify trends or potential safety concerns.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical/electronics background and experience investigating technical product issues.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate product complaints and returned medical devices.
  • Review and troubleshoot electronic circuits and components.
  • Review laboratory analysis, customer feedback, and historical product data.
  • Analyze post-market surveillance data to identify trends and product performance signals.
  • Assist Lab Technicians with complaint investigations and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Perform data analysis using statistical methods to support Product Performance and Risk Management activities.
  • Support CAPA, quality escalations, field assessments, and risk management activities as needed.
  • Communicate investigation findings and product performance information to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Design Assurance, Medical Safety, Manufacturing, Supplier Development, and other engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 1–3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong electrical/electronics background – required.
  • Experience investigating and/or reviewing electronic circuits and components – required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within quality systems and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of medical device industry experience.
  • Experience with physical device or failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of post-market complaint investigations and trending.
  • Experience with CAPA, risk assessments, and quality system escalations.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
