The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon keeps vital machinery running. As an RME Technician you will maintain a wide variety of equipment, uphold health and safety practices, prevent downtime, and work on continuous improvement projects across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive and preventative maintenance on site equipment
- Reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
- Use advanced tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
- Uphold health and safety policies and practices
- Support development and progression of on‑site apprentices
- Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across EU sites
A Day in the Life
Based on‑site, you will respond quickly to machinery issues, perform planned preventive maintenance, investigate and resolve breakdowns, propose long‑term improvements, and work across shifts to support 24/7 operations.
Basic Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, or completed a 4‑year UK certified apprenticeship
- Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
- Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
- Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical
- Experience with material handling equipment safety standards (OEM and industry)
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
- Experience with high voltage switching, sortation machines, bar code scanner configuration, and print‑and‑apply machines
- HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
