ROLE SUMMARY

The Commercial Senior Associate will be expected to assist in the commercial aspects of a portfolio of projects across the asset classes of MAF Development and provide assistance to the Senior Commercial Managers reporting the commercial status of projects Senior Project Team and the respective Development Managers. The ideal candidate is to have strong commercial awareness and have a background as a Graduate / Chartered QS with relevant experience in preparing cost plans, procurement awareness

ROLE PROFILE

  • Support the Delivery Team on all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Assist in project development through control documents and guidance from senior management and Project Managers.
  • Contribute to project delivery strategies across design, construction, and where applicable, operations and maintenance.
  • Support cost management activities including cost planning, reporting, change management, and contract close-out in coordination with the Delivery Team.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining best practices in cost management, including benchmarking, risk management, and project audits.
  • Support procurement processes, including sourcing consultants and contractors, evaluating tenders, and preparing contract documentation.
  • Assist in managing cost consultants and preparing monthly commercial reports, including cash flow analysis and cost projections.
  • Support contract administration activities such as payments, claims management, contract strategy, and final account closure.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication, time management, and delivery-focused mindset with high ethical standards and customer focus.
  • Basic understanding of cost management principles, including cost planning, reporting, and lifecycle costing.
  • Ability to support cost modelling, scenario analysis, and contribute cost-related inputs to project activities.
  • Awareness of benchmarking, risk management, value management (VM/VE), and project appraisal concepts.
  • Sound knowledge of financial, procurement, and contract processes, along with general legal and regulatory awareness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 0–2 years of relevant experience and good computer literacy.
