Role summary:

We are looking for an Engineer who will create, develop, document and support engineering standards, processes and governance practices, and drive the continuous improvement of engineering data structures across a global organization.

In this role, you will help ensure that engineering data is consistent, accurate, well-structured and reusable by standardizing item, BOM, document, and part classification practices. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, IT and other stakeholders to improve data quality, drive alignment and support effective engineering data governance.

A key part of the role is analyzing complex engineering data to identify trends, gaps, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities, then turning those findings into practical actions. You will also support global parts libraries, data cleansing and deduplication activities and the definition of trusted engineering records. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work across global teams are essential.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain global engineering standards, procedures, and governance practices
  • Own item, BOM, document, and part classification standards
  • Analyze engineering data to identify gaps, trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead data cleansing, enrichment, consolidation, and deduplication activities
  • Establish and govern global parts libraries, including CAD/item relationships
  • Define and maintain material, quality, and process requirement libraries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on standards, workflows, and data requirements
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and recommendations for stakeholders
  • Support adoption of company-wide standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead coordination with external partners on technical data transformation activities, including planning, progress tracking, issue resolution and overall support
  • Manage assigned projects and initiatives from planning through completion
  • Act as an internal consultant by providing guidance on part classification and data structuring in line with international standards and internal governance requirements – helping ensure consistent, high quality engineering data across the organization

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience
  • Experience with PLM or similar data management systems
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes, systems, and design tools
  • Strong understanding of engineering, industrial, and international standards
  • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills
  • Ability to interpret complex data and support data-driven decision-making
  • Basic programming or scripting skills are a plus
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methods
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills in a global environment

What will help you succeed:

  • A structured, detail-oriented, and data-driven mindset
  • Confidence working with technical topics and cross-functional stakeholders
  • The ability to identify patterns, solve problems, and drive standardization
  • A proactive approach to organizational change management, improving adoption of standards, consistency and quality across the organization
