A Snapshot of Your Day

A typical day as an Engineering Configuration Specialist involves reviewing and providing configuration data for engineering solutions, creating and maintaining essential documents such as the Product Modification Document and the Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM). The specialist updates the Pre-Release/Release Engineering BOM Proforma and Material Master records, while also controlling and updating all spare parts technical records based on evaluations and data analysis.

Throughout the day, they monitor inquiries and adjustments related to current and future product structures, offering support and recommendations for new product lines and modification campaigns. Additionally, managing all configuration aspects of R&D test engines is a key part of their daily responsibilities, ensuring seamless integration and documentation across engineering processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Produce engineering instructions for development activities in response to engineering requirements.
  • Create & maintain all EBOMs (Production & Development) in PLM
    2020.
  • Create & maintain all development engines as EQ structures/BOMs in SAP.
  • Review and provide configuration data for development, instrumentation and production engineering solutions.
  • Must provide support to the vehicle owner and the Operations group during build, test and strip of the development engines.
  • Attending various PDP, build/test development vehicle meetings.

    • What You Bring:

  • Hold a Technical Diploma (DEC) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Organizational relationships – responsible for delivery of the configuration instructions to support build program on allocated engines.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and pressure by applying lessons learned, demonstrating self-motivation and intuition, and implementing identified changes swiftly.
  • Computer skills – ability to navigate through common software such as Microsoft and more specialized software such as SAP and PLM (Team Center).
  • Good knowledge of French. This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
