The role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager for a full-time, on-site position based in Tangier. As our first dedicated engineering leader in Morocco, you will take technical and operational ownership of our developer team and play a key role in scaling our delivery capacity.
Your core mission: ensure that we ship our projects on time, at high technical quality, while maintaining an environment where developers can grow, innovate, and take ownership of what they build. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with the other teams
Your responsibilities
• Lead, mentor and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team
• Own end-to-end software development processes: sprint planning, code reviews, architectural decisions,…
• Drive seamless project management: clear deadlines, transparent priorities, on-time delivery
• Facilitate integration efforts across systems and departments, ensuring our solutions align with broader organizational goals
• Establish and uphold delivery standards with the team: git workflow, CI/CD, testing, documentation
• Report weekly and monthly to the Managing Director on progress, risks, and resource needs
• Participate in core technical decisions on stack, infrastructure, and data security
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a tech lead, lead developer, or engineering manager role
• Proven Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills: ability to guide and motivate multidisciplinary teams toward technical objectives
• Strong full-stack development background (Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React) — comfortable doing code reviews and making architectural calls
• Solid Project Management experience: planning, executing, and overseeing complex engineering projects within deadlines and budget
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Hands-on mindset: comfortable diving into code to unblock the team, but also knows when to step back
Strong assets:
• Previous experience in location intelligence, GIS, or telecom industries
• Familiarity with platforms like ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar geospatial tools
• Hands-on experience with applied AI workflows (computer vision, LLMs, automation)
• Understanding of digital engineering and workflow optimization practices
