AB Mauri Malaysia is looking for an Environmental Officer to support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives at our manufacturing plant.
In this role, you will work closely with the HSE & Security Lead to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, manage scheduled waste, and support environmental monitoring and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with DOE regulations and the Environmental Quality Act (EQA)
- Manage scheduled waste (SW), eSWIS reporting, and waste disposal vendors
- Coordinate environmental monitoring (air, effluent, wastewater, and noise)
- Maintain ISO 14001 documentation and support internal and external audits
- Conduct routine environmental inspections and recommend corrective actions
- Drive recycling, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives
- Support food safety and environmental compliance requirements
- Deliver environmental awareness training and promote environmental best practices across the site
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
- Certified Environmental Professional in the Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (CePIETSO) certification is mandatory
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in environmental compliance within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, or food processing
- Good knowledge of the Environmental Quality Act (EQA), Scheduled Waste Regulations, and ISO 14001
- Experience managing scheduled waste, eSWIS, environmental monitoring, and regulatory reporting
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
