Role Description The Facade Engineer will work on-site in Cairo, Egypt in a full-time capacity, collaborating closely with design, production, and project management teams. Responsibilities include developing facade concepts and detailed designs for curtain walls, windows, and related systems, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and aesthetic requirements. The role involves performing structural and building physics calculations, preparing technical drawings and specifications, and coordinating with suppliers and partners to select appropriate materials and systems. The Facade Engineer will review shop drawings, support installation teams, conduct site inspections, and resolve technical issues during construction. The role also includes optimizing designs for sustainability, energy efficiency, and long-term durability, while supporting continuous improvement in facade solutions and internal standards.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Building Envelope and Facade systems, with practical experience in facade design and detailing.
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering principles applied to curtain walls, windows, and cladding systems.
- Knowledge of Building Physics, including thermal performance, acoustics, air and water tightness, and energy efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience with relevant design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis tools, thermal simulation software).
- Familiarity with international and local building codes, facade standards, and certification requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with external partners.
- Experience in aluminum facade systems or similar building envelope products is an advantage.
