Role Description This is a full-time, on-site FF&E / Interior Fit-Out Engineer role based in Alexandria, Egypt. The FF&E / Interior Fit-Out Engineer will coordinate and oversee the technical aspects of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and interior fit-out works from design review through installation and handover. Daily tasks include reviewing design drawings and specifications, preparing shop drawings and material submittals, coordinating with suppliers and contractors, and ensuring that all FF&E and fit-out items meet project standards and codes. The role involves conducting site inspections, monitoring installation progress, resolving technical issues, and verifying compliance with quality, safety, and schedule requirements. The engineer will also support cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and value engineering, while maintaining clear documentation, reports, and communication with project managers, designers, and client representatives.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of FF&E, joinery, and interior fit-out systems, including materials, finishes, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and develop detailed engineering drawings, shop drawings, and coordination layouts using CAD or related design tools.
- Experience reviewing design documents, preparing material submittals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
- Proven capability in site supervision, quality control, snagging, and handover processes for interior and fit-out projects.
- Competence in project coordination, including scheduling, progress tracking, and interfacing with suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address design conflicts, site constraints, and installation challenges.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to prepare clear reports, correspondence, and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and basic commercial awareness related to FF&E and fit-out packages.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices applicable to construction and interior fit-out sites
