Technical Source is seeking Field Service Engineers to support customers across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental, and industrial, markets. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and qualify sophisticated analytical instrumentation used in laboratories throughout your assigned territory.

(1) Organic Chemistry Field Service Engineer (Minneapolis)
Support analytical instruments including:
- HPLC / UHPLC
- Gas Chromatography (GC)
- LC-MS / GC-MS
- Chromatography systems
(2) Inorganic Chemistry Field Service Engineer (Minneapolis & Seattle)
Support analytical instruments including:
- ICP-MS
- ICP-OES
- Atomic Absorption (AA)
- Spectroscopy and elemental analysis systems
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain analytical laboratory equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and operational qualifications.
- Install new instrumentation and train customers on proper operation.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
- Document service activities and maintain accurate records.
- Manage parts inventory and company-issued tools.
- Build long-term relationships with laboratory personnel and customers.
- Travel throughout your assigned territory to support customer sites.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
- Approximately 50% of your time will be spent performing preventative maintenance and equipment qualification.
- Perform installations, upgrades, and emergency repairs.
- Travel throughout your region, with occasional overnight stays.
- Manage your own calendar and customer schedule with minimal oversight.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting or maintaining analytical laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
Preferred:
- Prior field service experience supporting laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, or mass spectrometry systems.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, environmental, food and beverage, or industrial laboratories.
