Inviting applications for the role of Field Service Engineer (Required to travel) – Remote work

In this role, you will support the installation, operation, and maintenance of customer machines, ensuring high equipment uptime and a strong service experience. You will perform machine installations, preventive maintenance, and level 1 troubleshooting by following defined work instructions and collaborating closely with senior and lead FSEs. You will use the service CRM to document activities, manage service requests, and maintain accurate records of work performed. Leveraging your technical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and clear communication skills, you will work in a team environment to resolve customer issues efficiently, support training and knowledge sharing, and contribute to continuous improvement of field service quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of machine systems and machine operation, including core components, functions, and safety considerations.
  • Responsible for machines at customer site, should be able to perform following work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards, under the guidance of a Lead or Senior FSE.
  • Perform preventive maintenance services according to documented procedures and work instructions, with support from Lead or Senior FSE as needed.
  • Support level 1 service requests (remote and onsite) with guidance from Regional Service Engineer (RSE), Lead, or Senior FSE, ensuring timely and professional interaction.
  • Execute administrative tasks in the service CRM system, including service case creation, time and parts logging, service reports, and documentation updates.
  • Read, understand, and apply work instructions from manuals, service documentation, or verbal guidance to complete service tasks safely and correctly.
  • Follow logical machine troubleshooting steps at customer sites to identify issues, perform basic diagnostics, and escalate complex problems appropriately.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with other FSEs, Leads, engineering, and customer support teams to resolve customer problems and share knowledge.
  • Communicate technical information clearly through both written and verbal channels, including explaining issues and resolutions to customers and documenting service activities and training.
  • Responsible for communicating regular updates to Genpact Manager about client engagement – Weekly & Monthly formal updates
  • Work in collaboration with larger Genpact team based on site at client offices

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ manufacturing / technical background, and demonstrated hands-on skills
  • Field experience with Aerospace, Auto or Manufacturing Industry preferred
  • Understand basic electrical, electronic, and mechanical theories and systems
  • Able to travel 75% to client sites in Japan.
  • Able to learn basic machine systems and operations through provided FSE training.
  • Language requirement for Japanese and English proficient.

  • Strong Engineering / Technical background with prior experience in maintenance and repair activities
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address unexpected equipment failures
  • Demonstrated capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral, written communication skills, excellent customer relationship building skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills
