Alexis Fire Equipment Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Apparatus Electrical Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for installing, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting the electrical systems used on custom-built fire apparatus. Every truck is engineered to customer specifications, providing a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with advanced electrical systems and state-of-the-art emergency vehicle technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install electrical wiring harnesses, cabling, and electrical components on custom fire apparatus.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and production drawings.
- Install and connect emergency warning lights, scene lighting, sirens, switch panels, multiplex control systems, cameras, charging systems, radios, and other electrical accessories.
- Route, secure, terminate, and label wiring using company standards and best practices.
- Perform electrical testing and functional verification of completed systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during assembly and final testing.
- Ensure all wiring meets company quality standards and applicable industry requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical modifications and repairs.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Service, and Quality Assurance personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree or vocational training in electrical, automotive, diesel, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience with 12-volt and 24-volt DC electrical systems preferred.
- Experience with emergency vehicles, heavy trucks, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, RVs, or automotive electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multiplex electrical systems.
- Experience installing lighting, warning devices, radios, camera systems, or control panels.
- Familiarity with CAN bus or vehicle communication systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards related to fire apparatus is a plus.
- ASE Electrical/Electronic Systems certification or equivalent experience is beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb during the workday.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Work inside and around large emergency vehicles.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Perform work above shoulder level and underneath vehicles when required.
