Role Description The Forward Deployed Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Baku, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves working closely with enterprise customers to design, implement, and deploy AI-driven solutions using Wonderful’s multi-model platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and integrating back-end services, building scalable APIs, and ensuring robust data pipelines that connect customer systems to the Wonderful platform. The Forward Deployed Engineer will collaborate with product, data, and customer success teams to gather requirements, prototype solutions, perform testing, and iterate quickly based on user feedback. The role also includes maintaining deployed solutions, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues in production environments, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including building APIs, working with databases, and integrating services.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their practical application in production systems.
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud or hybrid environments, and familiarity with containerization or orchestration tools.
- Comfort working directly with customers to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and explain technical decisions in clear, accessible language.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid teams, manage time independently, and collaborate across functions and time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with AI/ML systems, data pipelines, or enterprise integrations is a plus.
