About the Company
An established energy operator is seeking a Gas Plant Operator to support day‑to‑day operations at an NGL fractionation facility.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will hold a Class 4 Power Engineering certificate with ~5+ years of experience, or a Class 3 certificate with ~4+ years of experience. Direct gas plant experience is not required, but is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor process equipment within an NGL fractionation environment
- Perform routine field rounds, equipment checks, and operational adjustments
- Execute LOTO procedures, isolations, and equipment de‑energization
- Issue, receive, and manage permit‑to‑work (hot work, confined space, line breaking, etc.)
- Support safe start‑up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate logs, shift notes, and operational records
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and escalate when required
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and field operations teams
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks
- Support training, competency development, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and internal standards
Qualifications
- Class 4 Power Engineer with ~5+ years of experience, OR
- Class 3 Power Engineer with ~4+ years of experience
Required Skills
- Experience in NGL fractionation, gas processing, or hydrocarbon operations is an asset
- Strong understanding of:
- LOTO and isolation procedures
- Permit‑to‑work systems
- Process equipment and safety systems
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong safety mindset and operational discipline
