About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Engineering and Project Delivery – Power generation to oversee the technical development and execution of major power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence, ensuring technical integrity, optimizing project delivery, and supporting the organization's long-term growth. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in power generation, project development, engineering governance, and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical oversight across the full project lifecycle, from development and design through execution and commissioning.
- Drive the delivery of technically sound, commercially viable, and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
- Ensure effective coordination between project development, engineering, procurement, and execution teams.
- Manage Owner's Engineers, consultants, and external technical partners, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery of technical outputs.
- Review and approve engineering studies, designs, specifications, and other technical deliverables.
- Develop and enhance engineering standards, governance frameworks, and project delivery processes.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and industry best practices to improve project performance.
- Develop and maintain Employer's Requirements and technical specifications for various project delivery models.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide technical guidance across key engineering disciplines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage technical risks, resolve engineering issues, and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineering license and/or postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in power generation, energy, utilities, EPC, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience across both project development and project execution phases.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of thermal power plant projects, with a strong understanding of Philippine regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and energy market operations.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex capital projects.
- Strong experience managing Owner's Engineers, engineering consultants, and EPC contractors.
- Solid knowledge of engineering governance, project delivery, technical assurance, and process improvement.
- Familiarity with conventional and emerging power generation technologies.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and decision-making skills with sound commercial acumen.
