DMA Engineering designs high-performance mechanical systems for net-zero and energy-efficient buildings across Colorado. We're looking for a sharp HVAC Mechanical Designer based in Quito to join our remote team. English proficiency required.

Why This Role
This is not a drafting-only seat. You will be embedded in a founder-run team, collaborating directly with licensed engineers from design development through construction documents. Your work will support systems that measurably reduce energy consumption. We are a small firm — your contributions will be visible and meaningful.
We work on Mountain Time (GMT-7), with flexible hours to support collaboration.
What You Will Do
- Produce HVAC construction drawings and documentation in Revit (MEP workflows)
- Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural and structural models
- Support engineers throughout design development and construction document phases
- Maintain drawing standards, sheet organization, and model discipline across projects
- Incorporate redlines and revisions accurately and efficiently
- Communicate progress clearly with the team in English
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, MEP/HVAC workflows
- Background in mechanical, HVAC, or building systems drafting or design
- Equipment selection: ability to specify HVAC equipment based on project requirements and performance criteria
- Load calculations: proficiency in heating and cooling load calculations (Manual J, ASHRAE, or equivalent) and ability to apply results to system sizing
- English proficiency, written and spoken
- Self-directed and consistent in a remote environment
Valued Skills
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Familiarity with U.S. construction standards (IMC, ASHRAE) and project delivery
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical specs and schedules in the U.S. format
- Engineering-level understanding of how HVAC systems are sized, selected, and controlled
- Exposure to energy-efficient design: heat pumps, radiant systems, building envelope
