Role Description
- Perform hydraulic calculations for pipelines, pumps, and utility systems.
- Technical support for the project (coordination of design solutions, equipment selection, coordination of technical parameters and characteristics, equipment configuration), analysis of the hydraulic portion of the design documentation with the preparation of comments and suggestions.
- Support development of hydraulic models and system simulations.
- Assist in pump and compressor sizing and selection.
- Review vendor hydraulic documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, C&I, Process teams for system integration.
- Support troubleshooting of hydraulic issues during design and commissioning.
- Verification of compliance with design and engineering documentation in accordance with the project, rules and regulations.
- Control over the installation and adjustment of hydraulic equipment.
- Control over the installation of reactor equipment and briquettepresses
- Interaction with technical services and contractors regarding the plant's mechanical ( hydraulic) equipment during the design, construction, installation, commissioning and acceptance of equipment.
- Maintenance and diagnostics of hydraulic systems – checking the condition of pumps, filters, valves and other components, carrying out repairs and replacing worn parts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a reputable engineering university.
- Years of Experience: 5–8 years experience in the discipline engineering and also on engineering design projects in Azerbaijan.
- Experience working with hydraulic drives, hydraulic equipment, experience in putting hydraulic equipment into operation
- Certifications / Licenses ( If applicable): Not required
- Technical / Software Skills
- Experience in designing and commissioning hydraulic equipment.
- Hydraulic modelling tools (e.g., AFT Fathom, PipeFlow). Research and mathematical calculations to determine optimal hydraulic system parameters for efficient and safe operation.
- Know the main types of metallurgy, metal production technologies and equipment.
- Device, operating principle and technicalcharacteristics of serviced hydraulic systems, aggregates and mechanisms
- Diagrams of hydraulic drives and equipmentlubrication systems, physical fundamentals of hydraulics and properties of working fluids (oils, emulsions), rules for installation, disassembly, adjustment and testing of hydraulic equipment, methods for troubleshooting hydraulic systems
- Understanding of pump curves, NPSH, and fluid dynamics.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Local standards.
- Soft Skills – problem-solving, teamwork, communication.
Strong attention to detail; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Ability to conduct business correspondence.
- Language Skills:
- Azerbaijani required, English and or Russian is an advantage.
