Elevations Design & Project division are supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire who, due to continued growth, are seeking a Junior Design Engineer / CAD Technician to join their dynamic design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to develop their design skills within a supportive engineering environment. You’ll be involved in producing 3D models and manufacturing drawings, while working closely with experienced engineers to deliver practical and cost-effective design solutions.
Junior Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in modifying and updating existing designs in line with project requirements Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings Support senior engineers and project teams in developing design solutions Help produce BOMs, assembly drawings, and technical documentation Provide basic support to production and fabrication teams with design queries Ensure drawings and models follow company standards and procedures Contribute to continuous improvement activities across design and production Junior Design Engineer Skills & Experience Required Some experience in a design, CAD, or engineering environment (placement year or internship considered) Exposure to Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Good attention to detail and willingness to learn Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude HNC/HND, Degree, or currently studying Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
