JUNIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
POSITION INFO:
Location: Germiston
Salary: R20 000
Position Type: Permanent
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance department with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and preventative maintenance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a recently qualified Millwright / Electrical / Mechatronics candidate looking to grow and gain valuable industry experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: Electrical / Millwright / Mechatronics
- Millwright Trade Test with limited or no post-trade experience
- Relevant experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and controls
- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems
- Coding experience will be advantageous
- Must have own reliable transport
- Must reside within 30km of Driehoek, Germiston
- Must be willing to work overtime, shifts, and standby duties
Required Skills:
- Basic computer literacy
- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems
- Exposure to maintenance systems and reporting tools advantageous
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency advantageous
- Basic understanding of diagnostic and fault-finding tools advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Safety-conscious and self-driven attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance tasks allocated by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Assist with electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Ensure minimal production downtime during maintenance activities
- Assist with the installation of new plant, machinery, and equipment
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations
- Perform overtime, shift, and standby duties when required
- Assist Management with additional projects and maintenance tasks as needed
