Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Junior Mechatronics Engineer with 3-4 years of relevant experience who combines strong engineering knowledge with extensive hands-on experience in assembly, fabrication, testing, and system integration.
This is a hands-on engineering role that requires the ability to translate engineering designs into fully functional products.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working both in the workshop and the engineering office, supporting the complete product development process from prototype assembly to testing and implementation.
You should have practical experience working with robotics, linear actuators, electric motors, motion control systems, sensors, and automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing kinetic sculptures and motion control systems.
- Integrate lighting systems including DMX, LED strips, pixel LEDs, and programmable lighting.
- Configure LED processors, sending cards, receiving cards, and LED display systems.
- Integrate AV hardware including displays, media players, touchscreens, cameras, speakers, microphones, and projectors.
- Perform wiring, soldering, cable termination, and control panel assembly.
- Support communication between hardware and software using Serial, TCP/IP, UDP, OSC, Modbus, or MQTT.
- Test, troubleshoot, and optimize interactive installations.
- Assist during fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Create wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and assembly guides.
- Participate in R&D for new interactive technologies and prototypes.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, assembly design, and production drawings.
- Experience designing mechanical assemblies suitable for fabrication and manufacturing.
- Assemble, fabricate, wire, and test mechatronic systems, prototypes, and production equipment.
- Build, install, and troubleshoot robotic and motorized equipment.
- Assemble and integrate linear actuators, servo motors, stepper motors, DC motors, gear motors, and other motion control components.
- Install, configure, and test sensors, controllers, actuators, and embedded control systems.
- Support the design, integration, and commissioning of robotic and automation systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Perform diagnostics, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechatronic equipment.
- Assist in prototype development, product improvements, validation, and performance testing.
- Conduct functional, performance, and quality testing before product deployment.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and workshop teams to ensure efficient manufacturing and assembly.
- Maintain technical documentation, engineering records, and test reports.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and operational standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in mechatronics, robotics, automation, manufacturing, or product development.
- Strong practical experience in assembling, integrating, and troubleshooting mechatronic and automated systems.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, linear actuators, servo motors, stepper motors, DC motors, gear motors, and motion control systems.
- Knowledge of sensors, relays, limit switches, pneumatic or electromechanical actuators, and automation components.
- Familiarity with PLCs, microcontrollers, embedded control systems, or industrial automation is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Experience using workshop tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
