Role Description
We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to join QX on a contract, remote basis.
This role is well suited to someone at the early stage of their QA career who wants to learn quickly, take on real responsibility and work closely with a team building AI-led products. QX is prepared to support and develop the successful candidate, but this is not a slow-paced or narrowly defined role. You should expect to wear multiple hats, adapt quickly and learn a great deal in a short space of time.
You will help ensure the quality, reliability and usability of AI applications by designing and executing test cases, performing manual testing, using available automated testing tools and supporting quality assurance processes across the product lifecycle.
Day to day, you will identify, document and report bugs, work with developers to investigate issues, validate fixes and help ensure that software meets defined requirements before release.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, document and execute test cases for AI-driven applications and related digital products
* Carry out manual testing to identify defects, usability issues and inconsistencies
* Use available automated tools to support testing and improve QA efficiency
* Report bugs clearly, including steps to reproduce, expected results and actual results
* Work closely with developers, product stakeholders and other team members to resolve issues
* Validate fixes and perform regression testing where required
* Help maintain QA standards, processes and documentation
* Review requirements and acceptance criteria to understand expected software behaviour
* Support testing across different devices, browsers, workflows and user scenarios
* Contribute ideas for improving product quality, user experience and internal processes
Skills and Qualifications
* Understanding of quality assurance processes, software testing principles and QA best practice
* Ability to create and execute test cases based on requirements and user stories
* Experience with manual testing, defect identification and bug reporting
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment
* Willingness to learn quickly, ask good questions and take ownership of assigned tasks
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change
* Familiarity with testing tools, issue trackers or automation testing is beneficial
* Interest in AI applications, automation and emerging technology is a strong advantage
