Do you have a technical background and enjoy working with equipment, instruments and technical systems?

Perhaps you currently work as a Field Service Engineer, Medical Technician, Service Engineer, Equipment Technician, Maintenance Technician or Mechatronics Engineer. Or perhaps you have recently completed an MBO 4, MBO+ or HBO technical qualification and are looking for an opportunity to develop specialist skills.

At Byondis, you will work with advanced laboratory and R&D equipment used in the development of innovative medicines. You will receive training in equipment qualification, validation, calibration and GMP.

You do not need previous pharmaceutical experience. We are looking for technical ability, curiosity, accuracy and the motivation to learn.

Your role

As a Laboratory Equipment Engineer within the Engineering & Maintenance department, you will help ensure that laboratory, R&D and GMP equipment remains safe, reliable, compliant and available.

You will coordinate and carry out maintenance, perform first-line troubleshooting and support calibration, qualification and requalification activities.

You will work closely with scientists, laboratory users, engineers and external service providers. You will also contribute to equipment improvement and investment projects.

This is a development role. Byondis will invest in your training in GMP, validation, qualification and specialist equipment.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting on laboratory and technical equipment.
  • Support and execute calibration, qualification and requalification activities.
  • Coordinate external service engineers and specialist suppliers.
  • Maintain maintenance plans, service contracts and technical records.
  • Prepare and update GMP documentation, including qualification reports, maintenance records and deviations.
  • Support root cause analyses and technical investigations.
  • Contribute to equipment installation, investment and improvement projects.
  • Work with equipment users to improve reliability and performance.
  • Help improve maintenance and qualification processes.

Who we are looking for

You have an MBO 4, MBO+, Associate Degree or HBO qualification in a technical or science-related field.

Experience that is useful, but not essential

  • Maintenance, repair or servicing of medical, laboratory, analytical or industrial equipment.
  • Calibration, testing, validation or equipment qualification.
  • Experience in pharma, biotech, medical devices, healthcare, laboratories or another regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with GMP, EudraLex, ISPE, ITIL or technical quality systems.
  • Experience preparing service reports, maintenance records or technical documentation.
