Kelly Engineering is seeking a Lead Mechanical Process Engineer to join one of our leading clients in the Engineering Services industry supporting power generation facilities.

Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering / PE Preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in the design and construction of steam and power generation plants
- Experience writing equipment specifications for some of the following: pumps, material handling systems, ash handling systems, boilers, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, water treatment, compressed air systems, turbine generators and piping systems
Location: This position would sit just north of Atlanta near Marietta/Kennesaw.
Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000/yr (depending on experience, P.E., or ability to obtain)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate engineering for steam and power generation projects
- Equipment sizing and selection
- Maintain pipe line lists, valve lists, and piping specialty items lists
- Develop heat and material balances
- Research other relevant codes and standards and interpret compliance with rules
- Mentor Junior Mechanical Engineers
- Travel to the field as needed throughout the duration of the project to review the design
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of five years of experience in the design and construction of steam and power generation plants
- PE License (preferred)
- Specific experience working for an EPC firm involved in steam and power generation projects
- Experience writing equipment specifications for some of the following: pumps, material handling systems, ash handling systems, boilers, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, water treatment, compressed air systems, turbine generators and piping systems
- Experience with general arrangement (GA) drawings and P&IDs
- Understand piping materials of construction and stress analysis
- Experience in the design of piping systems meeting ASME Section 1, B31.1 or B31.3 piping codes
- Experience with package or power boilers, power boiler fuel-conversions, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, combined heat and power (CHP), and pellet mills
- Experience with detailed analysis and specification of water treatment systems a PLUS
