Position Summary
The Team Lead – Data Center Network Operations (DC NetOps SME) serves as the senior technical lead for Stewart's Data Center Network Operations function. This position provides day-to-day technical leadership for the DC NetOps team while acting as the primary subject matter expert for enterprise datacenter networking, cloud connectivity, network security, and critical infrastructure services. The role is responsible for maintaining highly available network and security services supporting Stewart's data centers, cloud platforms, acquisitions, and global business operations. The position serves as the primary escalation point for complex incidents, strategic projects, architecture reviews, and operational excellence initiatives.

- Acquisition network integrations
- Business-critical application connectivity
Leadership Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for the DC NetOps team.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge transfer to engineers.
- Lead operational reviews, RCA discussions, and technical troubleshooting sessions.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, runbooks, and support procedures.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts between DC NetOps, Field NetOps, Cloud Operations, Security, Service Desk, and NOC teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, monitoring, security, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in resource planning, workload management, and project prioritization.
- Assist management with performance coaching, technical development plans, and skills assessments.
Operational Responsibilities
- Serve as Tier-3 escalation point for P1 and P2 incidents.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during major outages and bridge calls.
- Review escalations originating from NOC, Field NetOps, Cloud Operations, and Service Desk teams.
- Own datacenter network availability, resiliency, and performance.
- Maintain operational readiness for after-hours support and emergency response.
- Ensure appropriate documentation exists for all critical systems and procedures.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Technical SME Responsibilities
Data Center Networking
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise datacenter network infrastructure.
- Manage routing, switching, wireless, load balancing, and WAN connectivity.
- Maintain network redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Lead datacenter refreshes, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
Network Security
- Manage enterprise firewall platforms and security policies.
- Drive vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Support IPS/IDS, segmentation, NAC, remote access, and zero-trust initiatives.
- Partner with Security teams to meet compliance requirements and reduce risk.
Cloud Networking
- Act as SME for Azure and AWS networking architectures.
- Support hybrid connectivity, routing, and cloud security integrations.
- Design and maintain cloud network connectivity standards.
- Assist Cloud Operations teams with complex networking issues.
Monitoring and Observability
- Own monitoring standards and alerting effectiveness.
- Ensure LogicMonitor remains the primary source of truth for network monitoring.
- Review alert quality and lead noise-reduction initiatives.
- Develop dashboards, reporting, and capacity planning metrics.
Project Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and review sessions for major infrastructure projects.
- Support acquisition integrations and network migrations.
- Manage datacenter modernization initiatives.
- Evaluate new technologies and develop implementation recommendations.
- Coordinate testing, deployment, and transition-to-operations activities.
- Support vendor-led projects and proof-of-concept engagements.
Vendor and Partner Management
- Act as primary technical liaison with:
- Cisco
- NetSync
- Forescout
- Palo Alto
- Microsoft
- ISP providers
- Other strategic technology partners
- Manage TAC escalations and vendor support engagements.
- Review technical proposals, designs, and SOWs.

Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of enterprise networking experience.
- 3+ years supporting enterprise datacenter infrastructure.
- Experience leading technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong troubleshooting experience in complex network environments.
- Experience supporting cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure.
- Experience managing major incidents and escalations.
Preferred
- CCNP Enterprise
- CCNP Security
- CCIE (preferred but not required)
- Azure Network Engineer Associate
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
- ITIL Foundations
- Experience leveraging AI-powered networking and operations platforms for troubleshooting, monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, and operational efficiency.
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Cisco AI Assistant, AI-enabled observability platforms, or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity and automate routine operational tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement AI-driven automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, improve service quality, and accelerate incident resolution.
AI and Automation
- Experience using AI tools to analyze logs, network telemetry, alerts, and performance data.
- Ability to develop or support automation workflows utilizing PowerShell, Python, APIs, Microsoft Copilot, Cisco AI Assistant, or similar platforms. (Claude, Abacus, ChatGPT)
- Familiarity with integrating AI capabilities into operational processes such as incident response, outage communications, change validation, documentation generation, and root cause analysis.
