About the Project
ILK Construction is executing the EPIC scope for for an Offshore Platform Project in Caspian Sea Turkmenistan.
The project involves the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and start-up of a new offshore platform located adjacent to an existing CPP.
Major facilities include:
- 2 × 50% Gas Turbine Driven Gas Compressors (GTC)
- Compression of associated gas from ~2 barg to 136 barg (2000 psig)
- 3 × 50% Gas Turbine Generators (GTG), ~5.4 MW ISO rating each
- Integration with existing production, compression and power systems
- Provisions for future gas lift and gas injection expansion
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer to act as the technical authority for gas turbine-driven compressor and power generation packages throughout the full project lifecycle.
The role covers engineering, procurement, vendor management, manufacturing, testing, offshore installation, commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness.
The successful candidate will ensure technical integrity, performance compliance, and lifecycle reliability of all rotating equipment systems, acting as the primary focal point for OEMs, EPC teams, and the client.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Procurement Phase
- Act as technical authority for rotating equipment (GTCs and GTGs)
- Develop and approve equipment specifications, datasheets and technical requisitions
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards including API 616 and API 617
- Lead technical evaluation of vendor bids and participate in package selection
- Review compressor and gas turbine performance calculations, guarantees and cycle data
Vendor & Manufacturing Phase
- Coordinate technical alignment with OEMs and package vendors
- Review and approve vendor engineering documentation
- Participate in design review meetings and engineering audits
- Define and witness FAT scope, test procedures and performance validation
Construction, Installation & Offshore Phase
- Provide technical support for equipment installation and system integration
- Ensure design intent is preserved through fabrication and offshore installation
- Support commissioning activities as rotating equipment authority (not execution lead)
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of performance or reliability issues during start-up
Operational Readiness & Lifecycle Support
- Support performance testing, reliability assessment and operational tuning
- Provide input to maintenance strategies and O&M documentation
- Support handover and operational readiness activities
- Advise on long-term equipment performance, degradation and optimization
Stakeholder Interface
- Act as primary technical interface with OEMs, EPC contractors and client representatives
- Participate in technical workshops, design reviews and project risk assessments
Project Deployment & Location
The role requires phased assignment across key project locations, aligned with project execution stages:
- Engineering Phase: Kuala Lumpur (design office)
- Procurement & Project Controls Phase: Istanbul (head office and procurement hub)
- Vendor Execution Phase: Selected OEM facilities (USA, UK, Europe)
- Other approved compressor and turbine package vendors as required
- Construction, Installation & Commissioning Phase: Offshore Turkmenistan site
The candidate must be willing to travel and be temporarily assigned to these locations as required by project execution needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in rotating equipment engineering within oil & gas or power generation sectors
- Proven participation in at least three full-cycle projects (engineering through commissioning and start-up)
- Strong experience with:
- Gas Turbine Driven Compressors (GTC)
- Gas Turbine Generators (GTG)
- API 616 and API 617
- Offshore or large-scale EPC projects
- Demonstrated experience in OEM interaction, FAT witnessing, and performance testing
- Strong understanding of compressor/turbine performance guarantees and lifecycle behaviour
- Fluent English required

- Experience in offshore brownfield integration or complex tie-in projects
