Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Safety & Environmental Engineer to join an established engineering contractor on a major FEED project for the Shaybah oil and gas field. Based in Leatherhead, Surrey, this role is ideal for an engineering professional with proven leadership skills and strong technical safety and environmental expertise. This is a one-year contract position where you will play a key role in supporting the continued development and sustainability of the Shaybah field’s production facilities.

Salary
Competitive – Outside IR35 – Subject to QDOS assessment

Location and Working Pattern
Leatherhead, Surrey

  • 40-hour week
  • Four office days required per week


Client Overview

Our client is a well-established global engineering contractor delivering complex projects across the energy sector, including oil and gas developments and large-scale infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Lead technical safety and environmental engineering activities during the FEED stage of the Shaybah field project
  • Provide strategic oversight and ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental standards
  • Review and approve key deliverables related to technical safety and environmental performance
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project objectives and maintain safety excellence
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on safety and environmental matters


Must-have Requirements

  • Proven experience in a lead capacity within technical safety and environmental engineering
  • Significant background in oil and gas projects
  • Strong understanding of relevant industry safety and environmental regulations


Nice-to-have Skills

  • Familiarity with large-scale FEED projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Previous ARAMCO project experience desirable but not essential
